As you prepare for labor and delivery, one of your first decisions is choosing a doctor or midwife to care for you throughout your pregnancy, labor and delivery as well as after your newborn arrives. In addition to finding a doctor or midwife with whom you have rapport, you should also seek a practitioner or practice qualified to assist you with any potential medical issues.

If you are considering an alternative birthing option, such as an in hospital water birth, you’ll want to make sure the practice you choose offers this option, too. The more you know about what to expect during delivery, the more confident you’ll be when it’s time to deliver your baby.
