Bereavement Grief Support
Recognizing that each person and each loss is very individual, Cone Health offers a support group for those who have suffered the loss of a pregnancy or infant and are longing to connect with others who can identify with their experience. To accommodate your unique grieving style and circumstances, our Virtual Bereavement Support Group will allow you to use your video option or audio only, depending on your level of comfort. Our staff chaplains and perinatal educators will help with understanding, validation and hope during your journey.
This is an ongoing experience that will meet once a month and is designed to help you honor the past, assist you in discovering tools to strengthen you today, and aid you in developing hope for the future.
There is no fee to participate. Register online and you will receive a Teams invitation via email a few hours before the group start time.
The loss of a child is devasting at any time, but in an effort to provide the most supportive environment to families, we want to invite folks who are grieving the loss of a child older than one year to connect with our pediatric support team individually by reaching out to Chaplain Amanda Davee Lomax (amanda.daveelomax@conehealth.com or 336-832-6882). Individual grief counseling is also available free of charge through our local Hospice Organizations. Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem offers a monthly Child Loss Connect group that is primarily conducted online. The group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 6:00-7:15. Please call (336) 331-1300 to register.
